De Forville Barbera d'Alba 2023

Alba, Cuneo, Piedmont, ItalyA family winery for the last 150 years, the sustainably farmed vineyards of the De Forville's stretch over 11 eleven hectares in the communes of Barbaresco and Castagnole Lanze. This barbera comes entirely from Barbaresco, and vines averaging 30 years on limestone clay marls. After a native ferment in stainless, this rested 1 year in barrel and Slavonian botti. Ripe cherry and raspberry runs across the savoury and succulent palate, framed by appropriately bitter, sinewy, dark cocoa dusted tannins that close off the finish. There's a nice freshness to keep this friendly and ready for grilled meats / root veg.Tasted: 25 February 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
