Code Wines Pinot Noir Clone Collection Dijon 777 2022
Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis newer Okanagan winery is the vision of Shay and Harlee Code, the farmers and owners of this organic 5 acre Okanagan Falls east bench estate. They began planting in 2017 with chardonnay and syrah, and 4 clones of pinot noir to follow. This Dijon 777 clone is planted in the middle of their sloping vineyard, sloping down the hill. This was destemmed and inoculated before fermentation and extended maceration, then racked into new and old French barrels where it remained until July. Smoked stones, perfumed boysenberry, sunbaked raspberry, crushed wildflowers, and sarsaparilla are woven throughout this lighter bodied red, framed by fine, sapid and sticky tannins, and lofted by youthful acidity to a buzzy pink peppercorn finish. A great effort and result from this heartbreak grape.Tasted: 26 February 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:| BC | $43.00 | 750ml | winery direct |
