Champagne Alexandre Filaine Brut Speciale NV
Vallée de la Marne, Champagne, FranceAlexandre Filaine is a small production from Fabrice Gass, the ex-cellar master at Bolly. This retirement project produces 5000 bottles a year from 1 ha of organically farmed vines, based in Damery. A blend of the base year and the year prior, this was native fermented in very old oak (no MLF) and goes to bottle unfiltered. It was disgorged with 6 g/L. A lovely example of meunier, with a delicate peach hue, Perfumed purple florals, gentle Mayberry, with great fine spicing that lingers on the finish.
