Caparsa Chianti Classico 2021

Tuscany, ItalyThis certified organic tiny family estate makes old school (in the best way) Chianti Classico, currently in the hands of Paolo Cianferoni. Nestled in Radda in Chianti, on hillsides of albrese, galestro, clay and sand at 450m, most of their property is kept forested, to encourage and increase biodiversity. This sangiovese was native fermented and aged 2 years in cement tank before heading to bottle unfiltered. Perfumed wild strawberry, cherry, and fragrant raspberry blossoms are coated with sticky / grippy tannins that turn bitter edged on the finish. Throughout there is a lovely purity, subtly textured by the concrete. A useful food wine (think lamb or beef) when craving classic Chianti Classico.Tasted: 25 February 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
