1 Mill Road Grenache 2024

Horse Heaven Hills, Columbia Valley, Washington, United StatesThis is a sophisticated take on grenache, sourced from Coyote Canyon Vineyard in Washington's Horse Heaven Hills. Presumably, Aussie winemaker Ben Bryant knows a thing or two about grenache, and it shows here. There's a McLaren Vale style to the wine, showing pure, sweet cherry and strawberry, savoury spices, and a touch of candied violet florals, with a pitch perfect balance of freshness and fruit ripeness. A youthful wine, to be sure, that will benefit from time to unwind, but it's immensely satisfying now, especially with just the lightest chill. When we talked about being excited about what our favourite winemakers would do in Washington and Oregon, this is exactly what we had in mind.Tasted: 05 February 2026Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices:
