Rueda, Castilla-Leon, SpainOur first look at Celeste Verdejo was in 2021. I'm happy to report that the '24 white from Rueda is progressing nicely. Grown over clay and gravel riverbeds on the left bank of the Duero River, it undergoes a short, cold maturation before stainless steel fermentation and a brief ageing period on lees. Expect a smooth, glossy texture, with refreshing guava, prickly pear, and lemons, finishing fresh, clean, and snappy. Close your eyes, and you will detect subtle sauvignon blanc overtones.
