Simčič Sivi Pinot 2023

SloveniaDomaine Marjan Simčič is an iconic and benchmark producer in Slovenia, based in the historic and hilly Brda wine region, affectionately termed the Tuscany of Slovenia. Marjan is the 5th generation of this winemaking legacy. This organically / biodynamically farmed Sivi Pinot (aka Pinot Grigio) is from terraced vineyards 120-220m, and vines 10-20 years. It was native fermented and rested in stainless. Pouring a shining yellow hue, this medium bodied white stretches grapefruit, yellow blossoms, pomelo along a lightly waxen palate, seasoned with lemon thistle and thyme. A dry, herbaceous, and stony take on the grape, giving immediate interest and food-friendliness (try with spring veg or shellfish risotto).Tasted: 10 January 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
