Maison Smith Montpetit Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

Cawston, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMaison Smith Montpetit is situated in the heart of the lower Similkameen Valley, Canada's organic winemaking capital. This wine, labelled VQA British Columbia, suggests a blend of sites, likely in the south Okanagan and the Similkameen. The farm to table, organic, vegan producer focuses on minimal intervention and sustainable vineyard and viticultural practices. This is the second MSM cabernet we have tasted, and it is impressive. The nose offers floral, vibrant notes with red and some blue fruit, complemented by a silky texture that defies the grape variety and its youth. Graphite, black raspberries, and silky textures carry through to the finish of this cabernet sauvignon, which is almost in a class of its own. Only 100 cases were produced, aged 12 months in a 30/70 mix of new and neutral French oak. If you are a cabernet sauvignon fan, this is one you should seek out.Tasted: 19 January 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
