Lafazanis Nemea Agiorgitiko 2019

Nemea, Peloponnese, GreeceOne of the major players in Greek wine, Lafazanis‬‭ winery‬‭ started‬‭ over‬‭ 70‬‭ years‬‭ ago, though in 1993 Spyros‬‭ Lafazanis‬‭ moved‬‭ the‬ family winery‬‭ from‬‭ Magoula,‬‭ Attica‬‭ to‬‭ Nemea. From this Peloponnese region, this agiorgitiko was rooted in calcareous clays between 250-400m. After 8 days of skin contact over fermentation, this rested 12 months in oak. Dusky black cherry, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh green herbs is scented with dusty gravels, and framed with sticky tannins, finishing with a peppery bite. Drinking now, 7 years along, this is one to reach for with grilled / roasted lamb and root veg.Tasted: 12 January 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
