Gérard Bertrand Domaine de Villemajou 2022
Corbières, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceDomaine de Villemajou, in Corbières-Boutenac, is a prestigious estate planted on pebbly sandstone and marl soils, known for producing exceptional old vine Carignan. Acquired by Gérard Bertrand's father in 1970, the current wine is a blend of 40% carignan, 30% syrah, 20% grenache, and 10% mourvèdre, aged for one year in barriques. It opens with abundant aromatic richness of garrigue and predominantly smooth tannins. Black fruit jam, spices, leather, and coffee support the oak without overpowering the finish. Finally, a mineral note marks the wine's Boutenac terroir. Pouring with both elegance and power, it would complement any dinner table.Tasted: 24 January 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:| CDN | $38.99 | 750ml | estimated retail price |
