Gérard Bertrand An 462 2021
Languedoc, Sud de France, France462 opens with a spicy cedar nose and hints of dried herbs. The attack is velvety, with a flavour profile blending red and black fruit, maintaining mostly silky textures throughout. Easy to sip and enjoy with a mid week meal at a price that won't break your budget. A new screwcap finish is a plus. The 462 marks the year the Visigoths started their prosperous reign in Languedoc. The palace remnants are honoured by the Bertrand emblem, featuring a dove cross, a symbol of sharing and brotherhood, on every label. What is typically a Rhône blend, syrah and grenache, is harvested by hand and separately for optimal maturity. After fermentation, a portion of the wine is aged in 225L Bordeaux barrels for about 10 months.Tasted: 31 January 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:| BC | $19.99 | 750ml | private wine shops |
