Fort Berens White Gold Chardonnay Reserve 2023

Lillooet, British Columbia, CanadaLove that this is an all-Lillooet estate chardonnay from Dry Creek Vineyard. Following a very fine 2022, 2023 begins with an enticing apple. honey and nutty nose that draws you into the glass. The palate offers fine intensity and length, blending creamy textures with lemon and melon and a saline finish. This year, half of the fruit was destemmed and crushed with four hours of skin contact, adding freshness, while the other half was whole cluster pressed to enhance richness. New in 2023 is the use of all 400L French oak barrels, with only seven months of ageing. Overall, the average age of the oak has been reduced. Each of these tweaks has improved the wine's freshness and vibrancy. The winery suggests pairing it with risotto and chicken dishes. You could also enjoy this wine with roasted cauliflower and halloumi cheese. I served it with a Caesar salad with great success.Tasted: 03 December 2025Tasted by: Prices:
