Escudo Rojo Gran Reserva Carmenere 2022

Valle del Colchagua, Valle del Rapel, Region del Valle Central, ChileEscudo Rojo is an iconic Chilean brand created by France's Baron Philippe de Rothschild, and the name means Red Shield in Spanish. Though based in Maipo, this Gran Reserva Carmenere is sourced from the Colchagua Valley, and selected from top parcels. Dark and ferrous, with blackberry, herbal cassis, thorns scented with boldo and wild mint, and well integrated, dark cocoa lined tannins providing gentle yet ample structure. There's an easy acidity to lift, keeping this fuller wine drinkable and ready for food. Try with asado lamb, beef, or root veg. Great value.Tasted: 12 January 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
