Domaine Grand Nicolet Côtes-du-Rhône 2023

Côtes du Rhône, Rhone Valley, FranceOne of the founding family cellars of Rasteau, Grand Nicolet began in 1875. Today, winemaker Jean-Pierre Bertrand tends over 70 acres of organically farmed vines, with the average vine age of 45 years. This cuvée blends 80% Grenache and 20% Carignan from vines 40-50 years. It was destemmed and native fermented in concrete vats, where it ages for 3 months post-ferment. Sultry black plum, sun-ripened raspberry, perfumed florals is scented with scrubby garrigue, and wrapped with sticky tannins, all livened with fresh, stony acidity. There's an easy charm to this food-friendly red, and would make an excellent partner to shepherd's pie or grilled sausages.Tasted: 08 January 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
