Champagne Domaine Rousseaux-Batteux Blanc de Noirs NV

Montagne de Reims, Champagne, FranceAdrien Rousseaux is the 4th generation of his family to make Champagne in the Grand Cru Village of Verzenay, in the Montagne de Reims. The Rousseaux family has harvested grapes here since the 18th century. Since Adrien took over from his parents in 2012, he ceased the use of herbicides and insecticides on the 2.6ha estate, and farms organically. This pinot noir BdN is 50% from 2022, and 50% from 2021, from 50 year old plots in Verzy, Verzenay, and Louvois. Primarily fermented in stainless, with 10% in wood, this spent 3 years sur lattes, and was disgorged with 3 g/L. Smouldering cherries, meyer lemon, crushed blossoms, Assam tea leaves are woven through the structural palate, showing excellent pinosity and power. Acidity is red currant crisp, while the finish lingers long with orange rind and chalk dust. 7,881 bottles produced.Tasted: 05 January 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
