Villota Graciano 2021
Rioja Alavesa, Rioja, SpainVillota Graciano is grown in the Rioja Alavesa region of Spain. The wine is produced by the Pérez-Villota family at their San Rafael estate, situated on a scenic meander of the Ebro River near Laguardia. The family has been farming this land since 1930. The wine is low yielding and late ripening, which is why, historically, it has been the secret ingredient in some excellent Riojas. The Pérez-Villota family invested heavily in planting it on gravel and limestone terraces, where it has thrived. The wine is exceptional, featuring dense, chalky textures with rich ripe black cherries, wood smoked wild herbs, and bright acidity. It is produced as a single variety, estate grown red in small quantities of about 2000 to 2500 bottles annually. Unique and captivating, it remains a rare gem in the wine world. For 50 years, the Pérez Villota family supplied grapes to CVNE until 2013, when they decided to separate and create their own family named winery, Villota.Tasted: 12 December 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:| BC | $56.71 | 750ml | speculative listing - Grape by Grape |
