Southern Riverside, UruguayAnother interesting wine from Bodega Los Cerros de San Juan, this time from the finicky pinot noir grape. This wine has been fermented and aged in Italian clay ánforas. The style reflects its delicate, pale pink colour, elegant and understated, with quiet, dry, wild berries, and a pureness and freshness reflecting its cool Atlantic Ocean influence. The winery is not a newcomer; it opened in 1854 and is Uruguay's oldest winery.
