Los Cerros de San Juan Cuna Maderos Gran Reserva Tannat Single Vineyard 2021
Southern Riverside, UruguayPlot #35, with vines 20+ years old on the Los Cerros farm, is the source of this tannat. The wine is made in Italian stone and cement tulips, which promote micro-oxygenation throughout the fermentation process and accelerate maturation. The colour is tannat blue/black, while the nose offers more red and blue fruit, with quiet oak and spicing. It has good mid-palate weight and a lovely fresh red fruit finish, with mostly graceful concrete textures. You can drink or hold this wine; there's no rush.
