Veneto Rosso is but one category of red wine labels produced in the Veneto, made from native grapes such as corvina, rondinella, and raboso, often blended with international varieties like merlot and cabernet sauvignon. Most are dry, but the appassimento (drying) method can give a rich, ripe, and slightly sweet fruitiness. In the case of L'Antico, the blend combines merlot and corvina.
