Champagne Charpentier l'Act 2016
Vallée de la Marne, Champagne, FranceThe Charpentier family can trace its Champenois roots back to 1855 when an ancestor opened an inn on the banks of the river Marne. Now Jean Marc Charpentier, 8th generation, is at the helm. Under his guidance, their 24 hectares of vines was converted to to organic and biodynamic viticulture, reaching full organic certification in 2021 and Demeter certification in 2023. L'Act is their vintage wine, using the same plots each time (Charly-Sur-Marne and Saulchery) so they can track the wine across vintages. This blend of 60% Pinot Meunier, 35% Chardonnay, and 5% Pinot Noir comes from the area's limestone marls. After a native ferment in stainless with full MLF, this spent a minimum of 3 years sur lattes prior to disgorge. The ample PM presence makes itself felt here, with toast, red apple, and perfumed florals at the fore, scenting the core of meringue, and finishing with fine spice and chalk dust. Nice presence and sense of place here. Tasted: 03 December 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:| BC | $75.00 | 750ml | private wine stores |
