Wildeberg White 2022

Franschhoek Valley, Paarl, Coastal Region, South AfricaWildeberg, Wild Mountain, is a 144ha wine farm set against the backdrop of the dramatic Franschhoek mountains. Only 10 hectares are under vines, leaving the rest of the property primarily wild. This is an ancient bush vine sémillon, from 2 small plots, with the oldest planted in 1905. It was native fermented and aged in older 600L Austrian oak. Savoury and flaxen, with wild herbs, hay, medicinal lemon, green fig, and quince stretching long along the waxen palate, with a buzzy tension drawing the acid line through the lingering stony, saline finish. Powerful, yet subtle, this is a stunner now, and with time ahead.Tasted: 19 November 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
