Wending Home Chardonnay 2021
Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaWending Home is a new Niagara family winery owned by Ying Feng and her husband, partnered with veteran Niagara winemaker and educator Ron Giesbrecht. Wending refers to the slow route to home, with added meaning in Cantonese (Wēn 问, Dīng 鼎) as illustrated by their traditional stamp. This saw French oak (16% new) with full MLF, and 18 months on lees prior to bottling. Ripe lemon, French cream, yellow apple, subtle blossoms, and white peach roll along the medium+ palate, seasoned subtly with barrel spice, and lingering with crushed stones.
