Vasanti Cabernet Franc Renewal Series 2023
Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Vasanti franc is grown on the warm Osoyoos East Bench, where ripening fruit has become easy over the last decade. It opens with enticing florals, mixed with cranberry and cherry, followed by a mix of earthy, leather, raspberry jam supported by dense tannins and a strong vanilla oak finish. I like the 13.7% level and 16 months ageing, but think less than 100% new oak would make for a better ending with a few less sticky tannins.
