Tenuta Boccarossa DiRampante 2021
Sicily, ItalyThis old vine nerello mascalese, at 1000m, is planted too high to be included in the Etna appellation, which maxes out at 800m. These ungrafted vines are around 130 years old on the northern slope of Etna. This was aged in used barriques. 300 bottles produced. Incredible complexities here, with wild scrubby herbs, crushed florals, wild blueberries, medicinal raspberry and a quartzlike crystalline grip to the medium palate. Tannins are fine and firm and present, well suited to support the old vines.Tasted: 07 November 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices: Producer: Tenuta BoccaRossaGrape: Nerello Mascalese
