Mission Hill Terroir Collection Meritage 2022
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Terroir Collection is a series of Mission Hill wines that celebrate the distinctiveness of place and soil, as expressed through a range of blends and varietal releases. The Meritage opens with deep aromas of black cherries, baking chocolate, and five-spice, leading to red plum and smooth, polished tannins. This wine is enjoyable now, but there's no rush, as it will drink beautifully through 2030. The blend consists of 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Malbec, sourced from vineyards in Osoyoos (86%) and on the Black Sage Bench (24%). It matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, 30% of which were new.
