Mission Hill Terroir Collection Meritage 2022
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Terroir Collection is a series of Mission Hill wines that celebrate the distinctiveness of place and soil as tasted in a series of blends and varietal releases. The Meritage begins with deep aromas of black cherries, baking chocolate, and five spice, leading into red plum and smooth, polished tannins. This wine is enjoyable now, but there's no rush, as it will drink beautifully through 2030. The blend consists of 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Malbec, sourced from vineyards in Osoyoos (86%) and on the Black Sage Bench (24%). It matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, 30% of which were new.
