Il Fauno di Arcanum 2021

Tuscany, Italy2021 was a mostly spectacular vintage in the Chianti Classico region, stoked by sufficient winter rains that allowed the vines to withstand a dry, hot summer. In the end, noticeable diurnal shifts at Arceno delivered the vibrancy and acidity required to cope with the power of the '21s. The nose is a savoury, earthy, light mushroom and black plum affair with a hint of white pepper. The palate is dense and rich, with a Super Tuscan demeanour that exhibits power, finesse, and length. Look for black cherries, baking chocolate, licorice and refined tannins. There will be no rush to drink this beauty in the coming years. This impressive wine is sure to continue delighting for years to come. The best yet. Il Fauno di Arcanum is a Bordeaux-style blend sourced primarily from the Arceno di Sotto, La Curva, Colombaio, and San Giovanni blocks, located in the lower southwest section of the estate, in a warmer, clay subsection that ripens early, adding lushness to the wines. The 21 mix is 35% merlot, 35% cabernet franc, 25% cabernet sauvignon, and 5% petit verdot.Tasted: 04 November 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
