Divergence Bock Vineyard Viognier 2023

St David's Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaJeff Moote is the founder and winemaker at Divergence Wines, a small winery sourcing grapes from great sites around Niagara. From St. David's Bench's Bock Vineyard, and its loamy clay soils, this viognier was whole cluster pressed, cool settled, and racked into French barrels of various sizes (30% new) for fermentation and 10 months' rest. Fragrant white peach and subtle jasmine lead to a creamy, lactic palate, with lees, and coconut oil overriding the pear, peach and green vegetables hiding underneath. The finish is a bit wood clipped, and warming. Disjointed at this point, though a tricky grape to work with in Niagara, to be sure.Tasted: 04 November 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
