Comando G El Reventón 2022

Sierra de Gredos, Madrid, SpainComando G is a partnership of minds, mates and winemakers Fernando García and Dani Landi. They were drawn to the near-forgotten high altitude old-vine vineyards of Sierra de Gredos, near Madrid, and began to gain the trust of the previous generation(s) who had tended to these wind-swept vines for the Co-ops. With time, came trust, and the chance to see these old vines into these in-demand wines. This comes from a single vineyard in the area known as El Reventón, in the village of Cebreros. 2022 is the last time the boys had access to this fruit, 80-85 year old biodynamically farmed vines at 950m in slate and quartz soils. After a native ferment with 100% whole bunches, this aged 14 months in a 1400L foudre, prior to bottling without fining or filtration. From the warm 2022 vintage, this leads with baked cherry, wild blackberry, and graphite which streams along the buzzing palate, framed with a schistous grip, and easily lofted with mountainous acidity. Sad to miss trying this wine in the excellent 2023 vintage. 1782 bottles produced.Tasted: 22 November 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
