Champagne R. Faivre L'Aguerrie Réserve Extra Brut NV
Vallée de la Marne, Champagne, FranceSince 1953, founder R. Faivre has crafted wines from his family's vineyards in the Vallée de la Marne's Belval-sous-Châtillon. The family left the local co.op in 2017, and the grower house is currently overseen by 3rd generation David Faivre. Certified HVE and organic since 2020, David champions biodiversity and low-impact viticulture on their 5.5ha of brown chalky clay soils over limestone. My bottle of L'Aguerrie (base year 2020) blends 48% pinot meunier, 27% chardonnay, and 25% pinot noir, including 27% reserve wines from red grapes of 2018 and 2019. This was disgorged October 2023 with 1.5 g/L. Nougat, pear, and crisp green apple stream across the lively palate, seasoned with vanilla wafer, and lingering with lemon pith and peel. Quite smart, compact, and modern.Tasted: 12 November 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices: Producer: Champagne R. FaivreBlend: Pinot Noir - Chardonnay - Meunier
