Cave Spring Chardonnay Musqué 2022

Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaFrom their Cave Spring vineyard on Beamsville Bench, this Chardonnay Musqué is off 27 year old vines grown in stony clay till primarily of limestone and dolomite. The destemmed fruit was soaked on skins for 16 hours before pressing and native ferment in older 225L barrels, where it remained for full MLF and 10 months' rest. Pouring a golden yellow hue, this medium+ white rolls honeysuckle, beeswax, white peach along the palate, scented with jasmine spicing through a bitter lemon finish. Certainly entirely atypical for chardonnay (this reminds me more of roussanne), but a winter white worth seeking out for the adventurous.Tasted: 07 November 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
