It offers a fresh, floral note with hints of leesy bread dough—a delicious, versatile white with a bit of soul and provenance. In the 6th century, Princess Gavia and a soldier eloped to a village in northwestern Italy after her father, King Clodimir, forbade their marriage. They enjoyed the local white wine, revealed their identities, and were forgiven by the King, who named the village and its wine after Gavia.
