Yalumba The Octavius Barossa Old Vine Shiraz 2020

Barossa Valley, South Australia, AustraliaWith an average vine age of 89 years, this old vine shiraz draws 72% of its fruit from the Barossa Valley and 28% from Eden Valley. Deep and dark in hue, the highly expressive nose reveals dark plum, raspberry jam, fig, and licorice, layered with vanillin, black olive tapenade, a hint of tar, and dusty, earthy undertones. Partially matured in unique 100L French oak octaves crafted in the winery’s own cooperage, the palate is plush and exuberant, displaying both power and depth. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a trace of sea salt sprinkled dark chocolate. A striking wine that captures both the concentration and pedigree of true old vine shiraz.Tasted: 25 October 2025Tasted by: HJ ChaPrices:
