Margaret River, Western Australia, AustraliaThis Margaret River cabernet is immediately appealing, with a youthful, vibrant nose that shows clear varietal definition and regional typicity. It was fermented as 100% whole berries with wild yeasts, and matured for 10–12 months in French oak barriques (ranging from one to seven years old). Aromas of blackcurrant, black plum, graphite, violet, and bay leaf are layered with subtle hints of toast, mocha and spice. The palate is well shaped, with gently dusty tannins and bright acidity lending energy and balance.
