Unsworth Vineyards Pinot Noir Saison Vineyard 2023

Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaOne of 4 single vineyard Unsworth pinot noirs released from the 2023 vintage, this comes off the very special Saison Vineyard, in Cowichan Valley, and its glacial till soils. This uses clones 828, 667, 777, and 115, all destemmed and fermented whole berry in stainless before aging in French barriques (15% new) for 1 year. Pouring a hazy crimson hue, this charms immediately with its alluring crushed raspberry, fragrant cherry blossoms, rasped pink peppercorn coursing over river stones, lofted with an easy, bright marine acidity, and framed with fine, spiderweb tannins. The finish lingers long with crushed stones and coastal salinity. Such a special wine of place, and one of Canada's top pinot noirs, yet again.Tasted: 05 August 2026Tasted by: Prices:
