Spearhead Dual Citizen Chardonnay Upland Vineyard 2024
Yakima Valley, Columbia Valley, Washington, United StatesThe replacements that came into BC were largely successful, as the wines were mainly refreshing, a little sweet and soft, and easy-drinking, in a sense, filling the void left by the 2024 deep freeze wipeout of local vineyard grapes. They did, however, reveal our winemaking prowess, and it's clear the most experienced and connected winemakers in BC have made some impressive replacements. At Spearhead, the Upland Vineyard from Washington State's Yakima Valley has proved to be a worthy substitute under the tutelage of Grant Stanley. The nose is a mix of fresh lemon curd, baked apple, and fragrant toasted almonds. More citrus marks the mid-palate with an exotic twist of guava. Best of all is its silky-smooth texture, and a light vanilla and baking spice finish. Baked brie would be a delicious match. Drink or hold through 2027.Tasted: 16 October 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:| BC | $29.00 | 750ml | winery online/direct |
