Kutatás Patricia Bay Pinot Noir 2022
Saanich Peninsula, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaThe clay soils at Patricia Bay provide an ideal home for this Clone 114 estate pinot noir, which showcases dark cherry in that delicate Vancouver Island style. It also features an attractive, savoury, earthy undertone and a mineral, saline finish accented with a hint of orange, further enriching its overall flavour profile. Kutatás (Koo-Tah-Tash) is a Hungarian term for research, inquiry, exploration, or quest, precisely what winemakers MiraTusz and Daniel Dragert focus on in North Saanich. The vines are dry farmed and were planted in 2002. The grapes are foot trodden and aged for 12 months in 1 to 3 year old French oak barrels. At 12.5% alcohol, it is a delightful sip.
