Kutatás Patricia Bay Pinot Gris 2024

Saanich Peninsula, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaThis is coastal, cool climate pinot gris, with crisp, mineral scents that take me to Alto Adige and Friuli in Northern Italy. Crisp, lemony, stony, and tight, it has benefited from 9 months in neutral oak barrels, adding texture to its stylish, mineral underside. The '23 blend is 95% Salt Spring estate grown pinot gris and 5% Sunnydale Vineyard, on Vancouver Island. Kutatás (Koo-Tah-Tash) takes its name from the Hungarian for research, exploration, or quest, in the spirit of the Salt Spring Island wine team. The winery is on Salt Spring Island with 8 acres of estate vines. Kutatás also farms 5 acres in North Saanich (Patricia Bay vineyard). Both properties are dry farmed to ensure small berry size and maximal fruit concentration. The Salt Spring estate vineyard is gently south-sloping and is composed of mixed coarse soils over a deep, uniform sand deposit. The Patricia Bay vineyard is composed of clay soils fed by a limestone water table.Tasted: 26 October 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
