Emilio Moro Tinto 2022
Ribera del Duero, Castilla-Leon, SpainNow three generations strong (with the 4th incoming), founder Emilio Moro was born in Pesquera de Duero, where some of the flagship wines of the appellation are now produced. Their 375 ha of vines in RdD are grafted with Tinto Fino (aka tempranillo), recovered from the oldest vineyards that the family owns, Valderramiro and Resalso. This comes from vineyards 15 - 25 years of age and across 3 soil types. After 15 days maceration, this aged 1 year in American and French oak. Plush and ripe plum, cherry jam, crushed red florals rule the generous, structural palate, with ample long, firm tannins now integrating with the dense fruit. Tobacco and wild mint season, and linger on the kirsch-soaked finish. A classic, drinking very well now (ideal with braised lamb and rosemary) and with time ahead.Tasted: 27 October 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:| BC | $50.00 | 750ml | private wine stores |
