Eleni & Edouard Vocoret Chablis Les Pargues 2022
Chablis, Burgundy, FranceA leading member of new wave Chablis, Eleni and Édouard Vocoret are the next gen driving forward interesting Chablis, in the vein of their mentor Vincent Dauvissat, whom Eleni worked for as assistant winemaker. Starting with 5 ha of vines from Édouard's family in 2012, the couple has made a name for themselves and their single plot, site specific wines, farmed organically, native fermented, and rested in older oak. Les Pargues is a southerly vineyard neighbouring 1er Cru La Forêt, and some think it should have been included in the 1938 AOC declaration with the neighbouring 1er Crus. On white and darker clay laden soils, Les Pargues carries more power than other single plots.
