Domaine Eleni et Edouard Vocoret Chablis Le Bas de Chapelot 2022
Chablis, Burgundy, FranceA leading member of new wave Chablis, Eleni and Édouard Vocoret are the next gen driving forward interesting Chablis, in the vein of their mentor Vincent Dauvissat, whom Eleni worked for as assistant winemaker. Starting with 5 ha of vines from Édouard's family in 2012, the couple has made a name for themselves and their single plot, site specific wines, farmed organically, native fermented, and rested in older oak. Le Bas de Chapelot comes from a 3ha parcel beneath the 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre. Crystalline lemon streaks across the green apple palate through a lingering flinty finish, with a fine lees bed atop a buzzy river stone base.
