Domaine Benjamin Passot Chénas Au Bois Retour 2024
Beaujolais, Burgundy, FranceThis tiny low-intervention negotiant sources grapes in Chenas, Juliénas, and Chiroubles, employing native ferment, semi-carbonic maceration, and 10 months in older wood. Benjamin cut his teeth in Vosne-Romanée, and has now turned his passion towards Cru Beaujolais. This Chénas cuvée uses 80+ year old vines in sandy soils, and sees some new oak. Fragrant peonies, wild raspberries is lit with bright, cranberry-kissed acidity, and wrapped with sticky, slight tannins, with a faint pink peppercorn finish.
