Champagne Louis Roederer Cristal 2015
Champagne, France2015 is considered a standout vintage at Cristal, a 60/40 blend of pinot noir/chardonnay that is aged seven years on its lees (25% of the wine is aged in oak), and it all spends another eight months after degorgement before release. Look for a fairly deep yellow hue with some of the most refined tiny bubbles you can imagine. Yellow fruits, toasted almonds, red fruits mark the nose with a whiff of fresh cut wheat. The silky, creamy textures give way to a classic citrus and saline sparkler with outstanding vibrancy and persistence. It is balanced to perfection. Drink or hold through 2035.
