Blasted Church Small Blessings Nectar of the Gods 2023
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaNectar of the Gods is a flagship Blasted Church label first released in 2016. The ’23 blend is 36% merlot and 18% cabernet sauvignon from the Skaha Bench estate, with 34% cabernet franc from Moksha Vineyard on the northern shores of Osoyoos Lake, and 12% petit verdot from the Lloyd Vineyard on the Osoyoos West Bench. It spends three months in barrel before the final blend. It is then racked off and aged 17 months plus additional tank time before bottling. The nose is slightly reduced, with black fruit and spice. The palate explodes with spicy plum and blackcurrant, complemented by baking chocolate, cherry, and hints of toasted vanilla. At 14% alcohol, it commands attention. You can enjoy this wine now or cellar it, but I recommend a strong pairing, such as lamb or venison, to enhance its rich flavour profile.Tasted: 04 October 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:| BC | $55.00 | 750ml | winery direct/online, select private retailers |
