Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaHoly Moly is the right name for this wine. It is a gigantic red that takes me back to the heyday of Napa. It has a hint of age on the nose, with notes of leather blended with chocolate and tobacco. The attack is dry, rich, and firm, and the tannins are equally robust, with a mix of black fruits, coffee grains, and sagebrush. Wild game is the antidote here, or another five years of bottle age. The oak is entirely French, comprising 20% new, 60% third fill, and the remaining 20% neutral. It was barrel aged for 12 months and then bottle aged for an additional 10 months.
