Atanga Sauvignon Blanc 2023

Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandThis wine earned a prestigious gold medal at the 2024 Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada tastings. It is made with fruit from Marlborough, NZ, but it was bottled in Québec by Maison des Futailles Station 22. Not that you would see that noted anywhere on the label. At 12.5% alcohol, it has travelled well. Expect an intense Kiwi aroma, bright acidity, sweet pineapple, and herbal pyrazine notes combined with passionfruit. Ready to drink, it is best enjoyed with food that can mellow out the acidity. The SAQ states it is a Product of Québec, while the label indicates it is a Product of New Zealand. Eventually, consumers might seek clarity, as it seems that bulk bottling of foreign wine will likely continue in Canada, and its placement by origin on shelves remains uncertain.Tasted: 30 October 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
