Antica Fratta Essence Rosé Franciacorta 2019
Lombardy, ItalyFratta is the name of the small hamlet in the district of Monticelli Brusati on historic maps dating back to Napoleonic times. The name comes from the ruggedness of the mountains which stand out against Franciacorta’s hills. In the 1970s Franco Ziliani purchased the property which concealed a cellar dating back to 1850. Since 1979 Antica Fratta has been working to produce sparkling wines to represent their unique terrain. This rosé is equal parts pinot nero and chardonnay, fermented in stainless, and with a minimum of 30 months sur lattes. Wild strawberry, white peach, and perfumed florals waft throughout this complete rosé, wrapped around a subtle meringue core, and lingering long with anise, orange peel, and stony spice. Super polished and characterful, and amongst the best rosé Franciacorta I've tasted.Tasted: 21 October 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:| ON | $65.95 | 750ml | LCBO |
