Famille Perrin Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Sinards 2021
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceLes Sinards is the other Châteauneuf-du-Pape made by Famille Perrin, which is made from vines under 20 years old at Beaucastel and two neighbouring vineyards. It is mainly grenache, with some syrah and mourvèdre, hence its more elegant, fruit-forward styling. The blend is fermented in wooden and stainless steel vats using the same methods employed for the senior Beaucastel. After fermentation, the wines are tasted to determine the blend, and then aged in foudres for 2 years. 2021 was not an easy year, with April frost and a harvest stalled by rain, but in the end, Les Sinards has emerged with freshness and balance. The nose is aromatic and reminiscent of red and blue berries, with a dusting of wild, dry herbs and some meaty notes. The palate is juicy, with more red and black fruits, and a touch of spice that persists through a long finish. A solid mid-term red for drinking now through 2029.Tasted: 26 September 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:| BC | $51.99 | 750ml | BCL Stores |
