Champagne Lacourte Godbillon Premier Cru Brut Nature NV

Montagne de Reims, Champagne, FranceChampagne Lacourte-Godbillon is run by husband and wife team Richard Desvignes and Géraldine Lacourte, who took over the Écueil estate from Lacourte’s parents in 2006, and began converting the 8 hectares to organics and biodynamics (both now certified). They are the 9th generation of Champagne growers to run the estate, and they are the 3rd generation to bottle and sell under their own label. This cuvée is equal parts pinot noir and chardonnay from their Écueil estate, based on 2015 with 20% reserve wines. About half was fermented in used 300L oak, partial MLF, and headed to bottle without fining or filtration. It spent 5 years on lees prior to disgorge in November 2021 with zero dosage. A seamless sip, centered on meringue, with layers of chalk, lemon peel, green apple, subtle toast, and an alluring flicker of reduction which leads to a long, lingering saline finish. Lovely depth and layers for a 0D, and holding fresh for the warm 2015 base year. Super smart.Tasted: 25 September 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
