Cinco Leguas Rompecepas Garnacha 2022
Madrid, SpainCinco Leguas is a new project from winemaker Marc Isart, Miguel Santiago, and their Irish importers Vinos Tito. Rompecepas Garnacha comes from organic vines in San MartÃn, Gredos, planted at 830m in sandy soils. This was destemmed with a short 5 day maceration in concrete before aging 9 months in 500L barrels and 700L tinajas. This lighter red charms with perfumed wild cherries, raspberries, and crushed wildflowers, seasoned with scrubby resinous herbs, and wrapped with fine, lightly sticky tannins to the pink peppercorn dusted finish.
