Alkina Kin Semillon 2024

Barossa Valley, South Australia, AustraliaAlkina is a certified organic and biodynamic Barossa farm on the traditional lands of the Ngadjuri people. The founders honour and learn from the land’s Indigenous history (Alkina is an indigenous girl's name meaning 'moon') through their 43 hectares of vines, with the eldest planted in the 1950s. Kin is primarily younger vine sem, with a splash of semillon gris, and partial old vine material. Fruit was destemmed save for 10% whole berries, while the sem gris was left to cold soak overnight before basket pressing to concrete and MLF with time on lees in amphora before joining the rest of the stainless blend. Energetic and joyous, as the best young sem is, this rings along the palate with shining lime, white grapefruit, green fig, and crunchy pear tempered by a fine lees bed, finishing in a very long saline wash. Lovely purity and vibrancy here, and nothing but time ahead.Tasted: 08 August 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
